CEBU CITY – Vensu PH, a Cebu-based tech startup, will hold its soft launch on October 24, 2026, starting in Cebu City.
Vensu PH is an event venue booking marketplace where people can book affordable venues according to their budget. It is described as an "Airbnb for event venues."
According to the company, the idea began when people around founder Sukho Cho kept asking for referrals to affordable venues for small celebrations such as launches, birthday parties, and Christmas parties. This sparked the idea of an easy and accessible platform where people can compare prices and venues without emptying their wallets or stressing over the search.
Vensu said that when people think of event venues, hotels and resorts usually come to mind first. Cafes, restaurants, KTVs, and photo studios are often overlooked because not many people know about them and they are not openly advertised, with some inviting mostly relatives or friends of the owner. The limited search results make venues look fully booked, especially during Christmas, New Year, and other seasonal events.
Vensu's goal is to open up venues that are hidden by heavy competition and social media algorithms, serving as a bridge between people on a budget and the right venue for workshops, birthdays, Christmas parties, conferences, seminars, launches, and other occasions.
Vensu PH uses a filter system and an AI chatbot that narrows down venues that fit a user's needs and budget. The company said a lack of disclosed information often leads to endless conversations and hidden fees on the day of the event.
To address scams, Vensu checks the documents of each space. With Cho's interior design background, he also conducts an ocular inspection and an interview with the owner before a venue is accepted on the app. Only listings the company can vouch for are placed on the platform. Payments are held by Vensu until the day of the event to provide security for both vendors and users.
Vensu said the platform makes life more efficient for business owners, moms, student organizers, and event organizers, whose options are no longer limited to hotels and resorts.
Cho is the Chief Executive Officer. He is a graduating BS Interior Design student at the University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus, and operated an online art school while studying.
Gwen Vensuel Anne Villadolid Acojedo is Chief Marketing Officer. She is a model by profession and has sales and marketing experience from previous jobs. Mr. D. T. serves as Chief Operations Officer.
Others behind the app are Hue Cayrene Lu, VP for Marketing; Wilbert Quiape, Chief Technology Officer; Bryan Anbarafshan, Chief Financial Officer; Rowell Ian Gana-an, Chief Legal Officer; and Lloyd Urbiztondo, Chief Information Officer.
