No Storm Inside or Outside PAR, but ITCZ Brings Scattered Rains to Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao
There are no tropical cyclones being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this Sunday, October 25, 2026, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). Still, cloudy skies and scattered rains are expected in several parts of the country because of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
In its 5:00 AM public weather forecast, PAGASA said Bagyong Rosal already left PAR yesterday, October 24. The low pressure area previously spotted east of Mindanao has also dissipated. Weather Specialist Obet Badrina explained that the ITCZ, where winds from both hemispheres meet, is now bringing cloud cover over Palawan, a large part of the Visayas, and a large part of Mindanao.
What to expect today
Palawan, a large part of the Visayas, and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains, lightning, and thunder. The Bicol Region and Romblon will also experience the same conditions. Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, and the northern and western sections of Mindanao will see the most cloud cover and rain.
In Luzon, including Metro Manila and nearby provinces, the morning should be warm and fair. Localized rain showers and thunderstorms are still possible from the afternoon until evening.
Temperature ranges
Metro Manila: 26 to 32°C
Baguio: 17 to 24°C
Tagaytay: 23 to 30°C
Legazpi: 25 to 31°C
Puerto Princesa: 25 to 31°C
Iloilo: 25 to 32°C
Davao: 26 to 32°C
Coming days
Based on PAGASA's latest data, this weather is expected to continue. Luzon will stay fairly warm, with localized thunderstorms possible while the ITCZ keeps bringing rain, especially to the western parts of the Visayas and Mindanao and the western section of Palawan. The chance of a tropical cyclone developing inside PAR in the coming days is small.
Seas
No gale warning is up anywhere in the country, so it is safe for sea vessels to venture out along the coasts. PAGASA still advised extra care for small vessels and small boats.
Sun
The sun rises at 5:49 AM and sets at 5:31 PM today.
Where to get updates
PAGASA said updated warnings, including thunderstorm advisories, rainfall information, heavy rainfall warnings, and flood advisories, are available in real time on its official website and on panahon.gov.ph, as well as on DOST-PAGASA's social media pages on X, Facebook, and YouTube.
Badrina ended the briefing with a call for readiness: "Maghanda po tayo lagi para sa isang ligtas na Pilipinas" (Let us always be prepared for a safe Philippines).
