No LPA, Bagyo Inside PAR Today as PAGASA Eyes Possible Cyclone Outside Domain

No LPA, Bagyo Inside PAR as Amihan Signs Grow; PAGASA Watching Possible Cyclone Outside Domain

The Philippines has no low pressure area (LPA) or tropical cyclone inside or near its area of responsibility this Tuesday, October 27, 2026, according to the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA). PAGASA is, however, tracking a possible cyclone outside its monitoring domain.

In its 5:00 AM public weather forecast, PAGASA noted a cluster of clouds east of Mindanao but no weather disturbance that needs close watching for now.

"Although we see a cluster of clouds east of Mindanao, we are not monitoring any low pressure area or tropical cyclone inside or near our Philippine area of responsibility," said Veronica C. Torres, DOST-PAGASA weather specialist (translated from Filipino).

Amihan season may be declared soon

PAGASA said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is no longer affecting any part of the country. The northeasterly windflow is now affecting Northern Luzon, a weather system that signals the start of the Amihan season.

Because of this, PAGASA said it will not rule out an official declaration of the Amihan season in the next few days. It urged the public to watch for updates.

Weather in Luzon

Cloudy skies with light rains are expected in Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela due to the northeasterly windflow. Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will see generally fair weather with a chance of light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have fair weather with a chance of localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA's five-day outlook shows rain chances rising in the eastern parts of Luzon in the coming days. By Thursday, a high chance of rain is expected in the eastern parts of Northern and Central Luzon. On Friday and Saturday, light rains become more likely in Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela.

Temperatures will range from 24 to 33°C in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao, and from 25 to 32°C in Puerto Princesa and the Kalayaan Islands.

Weather in the Visayas and Mindanao

PAGASA said no weather system is expected to bring prolonged rain over the Visayas and Mindanao. Like most of Luzon, both areas will see fair weather with a chance of thunderstorms from the afternoon to the evening. PAGASA's Regional Services Division will issue thunderstorm advisories when needed.

The same conditions are expected in the next three to five days, although forecasters said this may still change.

Temperatures will range from 24 to 32°C in Iloilo and Tacloban, and from 25 to 32°C in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro.

Coastal waters

No gale warning is up over any seaboard of the country. PAGASA still advised caution for those going out to sea, especially in the northernmost part of Northern Luzon, where moderate to rough seas are possible.

Possible cyclone outside the domain

PAGASA also presented its Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential, a two-week outlook released every Monday. Torres explained that a tropical cyclone appears on the public weather forecast only when it is an LPA or bagyo inside the yellow-lined area on the satellite image, which marks the agency's monitoring domain.

Currently, no LPA or bagyo is inside or near the country, but a cyclone is visible outside the monitoring domain. The outlook for October 26 to November 1 shows it may enter the domain, though it is still far from land. It is not expected to affect the Philippine landmass on October 28. For the second week, November 2 to 8, the outlook shows low chances or no cyclone within the domain.

PAGASA said the outlook may change because of its long time span. It will release further updates.
