Cebu City Hall Workers, Families Come Together for Family Day at Plaza Sugbo
CEBU CITY — City Hall employees and their families gathered at Plaza Sugbo, Cebu City Hall Grounds, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, for the Cebu City Government Employees' Family Day.
The event carried the theme "Pamilyang Nagkahiusa ug Disiplinado, Kinaiyahan Protektado." It was led by Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival and Vice Mayor Tomas Osmeña, together with city councilors, city government employees, and their families.
"Nalipay kaayo ko"
In his message, Mayor Archival said he was happy with the gathering. He described Family Day as a time for employees and their families to come together, spend time with one another, and get to know each other beyond their work.
"Nalipay kaayo ko at this time mao ang Family Day. Mao kaning time nga magkakita ta kada usa and I hope nga ang atong isig kapamilya makaistorya sa uban sad," Mayor Archival said.
Family bonding with a cleanup message
The mayor also encouraged employees and their families to help keep Cebu City clean and protect the environment, highlighting the "Basura Namo, Kaugmaon Nato" campaign as part of the celebration.
"Unya ang usa sa atong gitan-aw, ang atong mga pamilya makatabang unta sa paglimpyo sa atong siyudad sa Sugbo. Mao na ang usa sa atong theme mao gihapon na 'Ang Basura Namo, Kaugmaon Nato,'" he added.
