Talisay City Crowns Sam Nunez and Mae Coppens as Mister & Miss LGBT All Stars Grand Winners
TALISAY CITY, Cebu – Sam Nunez of Barangay Lawaan 1 and Mae Coppens of Barangay Lawaan 3 were crowned this year's grand winners of Mister & Miss LGBT All Stars at the Talisay City Sports Complex in Barangay Poblacion.
Twenty-two LGBT candidates from the city's 22 barangays took the stage to showcase their talents, confidence, wit, and intelligence.
Cebu 1st District Rep. Rhea Gullas, who witnessed the crowning, shared her thoughts on the event in a Facebook post.
"It was truly a fun-filled and meaningful evening," Gullas said. She said she especially enjoyed the talent portion, noting that "some brought so much laughter to the crowd, while others made us appreciate the amount of preparation, creativity, and hard work they put into their performances."
Gullas also congratulated all the winners, particularly the two grand winners. She said a small token was also given to the other competitors so they would not go home empty-handed. "Every single one of them deserves to be celebrated for having the courage to stand on that stage and proudly represent their barangay," she said.
She added that it was "an honor to witness this one-of-a-kind celebration of talent, confidence, and pride," and promised to return for next year's pageant.
Gullas likewise congratulated the Talisay City Government and the United Talisaynon LGBTQ+ Federation for successfully staging the event.
She closed by calling for continued support, respect, and opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community, saying everyone deserves a chance to shine and be celebrated.
