POC President Bambol Tolentino at 20th Asian Games Closing Ceremony in Nagoya
NAGOYA — Representing the Philippines at the highest echelon of continental sports leadership, Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Executive Board Member Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino was seated at the front row of the VIP tribune of the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium for Sunday's Closing Ceremony of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
He was seated alongside fellow OCA Executive Board Member HRH Prince Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council. According to the POC, Tolentino's presence on the OCA Executive Board underscores the Philippines' strong voice, respected stature, and active sports diplomacy in the international Olympic movement.
As the cauldron was set to be extinguished in Nagoya, the POC said the Philippine campaign was highlighted by 4 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 16 bronzes across Olympic disciplines. The POC added that the Filipino athlete continues to stand tall both on the arena floor and in the corridors of global sports governance.
