ITCZ to Bring Rains Over Visayas and Mindanao on October 14, PAGASA Says
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring rain over parts of the country today, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, according to PAGASA. The weather bureau said Visayas and Mindanao will have a high chance of rain, while much of Luzon will be hot and humid.
PAGASA said two weather systems are affecting the country. The ITCZ is affecting Visayas and Mindanao, while the northeasterly windflow is affecting Northern Luzon.
Storm outside PAR
PAGASA is also monitoring a storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). It was last spotted about 2,340 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon.
Based on satellite imagery, it is still far from the country. PAGASA said it is not expected to directly affect any part of the Philippines or to enter PAR.
Rain across the Visayas
Under the ITCZ, PAGASA said residents across the Visayas and Mindanao should expect a high chance of rain. The bureau urged the public to stay alert, since sudden heavy downpours carry a high risk of floods and landslides.
PAGASA advised residents to coordinate with their local government units for updates and safety measures.
In Palawan, the weather is expected to be fair, but there is a high chance of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
