LTFRB Reminds Operators, Drivers: Post Updated Fare Matrix Before Fare Hike Takes Effect Monday
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a public advisory reminding all operators and drivers of public utility vehicles to make sure the updated fare guide or fare matrix is properly posted inside their vehicles ahead of the new fare rates set to take effect on Monday, September 28, 2026.
In the advisory, LTFRB said the updated fare matrix should be visible to passengers before the fare increase is implemented, so commuters know exactly what they're supposed to pay under the new rates. The agency clarified that the updated document can be downloaded directly from its official website, ltfrb.gov.ph, giving operators and drivers no excuse to skip the requirement.
LTFRB also encouraged commuters to play an active role in monitoring compliance. Riders who notice a vehicle without the updated fare guide posted are urged to report the incident either through the agency's 1342 hotline or by messaging the official LTFRB Facebook page. The agency said such reports will be given appropriate action in line with existing regulations.
The advisory did not specify penalties for non-compliance, but it underscores LTFRB's continuing push for transparency in fare implementation, especially with a nationwide fare adjustment about to roll out. Posting the fare matrix inside vehicles is meant to protect commuters from overcharging and to make sure the transition to the new rates goes smoothly starting Monday.
